JISC RSC London

JISC RSCs – We are a free Advisory Service funded by the UK Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) through JISC Advance. We are present in every region of England and also in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Our role is to help you deploy technology to engage learners and to improve organisational efficiency and effectiveness. This is the fourth year running that the RSC London support FOTE, an event that has become established in the calendar of activities available to everyone interested in technology in education, both from the UK and abroad.

In our twelve years of existence, the RSCs have lived through unthinkable transformations in the way learners, teachers and managers view and use technology. And that is one of the key reasons why we embraced FOTE from year one! The future of technology depends greatly on what we do now.

Key to our achievement has been the unique network of practitioners associated with the RSCs throughout the years.  Such close relationships have helped empower managers to make the right decisions about technology. Our team strive to make us the first point of contact for advice and guidance on things related to technology for education. We provide advice on a number of key Government agendas, including: Network Management, Staff Development, e-Safety, e-Assessment, Green ICT, Sustainability, Business Processes, Digital Literacy and many other aspects of technology in education. The Kulu platform allows teachers to quickly and easily create professional-quality video lectures and combine them with graphs, presentations, web links and other documents. These engaging, interactive visual messages, or Kulus, communicate ideas more effectively than traditional lecture-style education, helping students to better understand and absorb the information. Lecturers don’t need to be IT experts to quickly create and publish professional, rich visual messages straight from their desktop to students around the globe.
