Andrew Bollington has a degree in Computing Science and used to be an IT Director. Today, as Chief Operating Officer for the University of London International Programmes, information technology is never far away in the challenges of supporting over 50,000 students in 180 countries following distance and flexible learning programmes developed in collaboration with 12 University of London Colleges.
While Andrew maintains a passion and enormous interest in IT, his career is more easily defined by its variety than specialism with experience of managing activities as diverse as finance, strategy, marketing, communications, branding, publishing, and project support. He has travelled extensively and prior to joining the University of London in 2009 worked for the International Baccalaureate Organisation as Regional Director for Africa/Europe/Middle East based in Geneva.
Andrew has an MBA from Henley Management College, thinks that the iPad is the best gadget he has bought in years, and can still write a few lines of PHP in an emergency!
