Nick Skelton

Nick is Assistant Director of IT Services (Infrastructure) at the University of Bristol. He studied Chemistry at Bristol, and like many fell in love with the city and university. In 1998 he established the ResNet service, making Bristol the first UK university to provide high-speed Internet in all its halls. He is currently leading a programme to introduce Google Apps for staff and students at the university.

Within IT Nick’s particular interests include mobility, IT consumerisation & pervasive media. He is a firm believer that people are more important than technology, and that IT services succeed or fail due to social effects. His other interests include mountain biking, making his own cider, and playing tag with zombies across the streets of Bristol.
